Three Marilyn Monroe are identical in image but are embodied by bodies that are totally different in volume, gender and quality. In these three bodies (three semblances-presences), Marilyn is the quintessential corpse: a decaying figure mirroring the decline of an entire system – the West – that is the victim of its own mechanisms.
